We meet once a month, generally at Beckenham Methodist Church, Bromley Road, Beckenham, BR3 5JE. The church has full disabled access and facilities, with level access from the street on Bevington Road. Parking is generally available in nearby streets and in St George's Road car park.
Our meetings are usually on the 1st Tuesday of the month, from 7.45 – 10pm, apart from January and February, when we meet online via Zoom. At each meeting there will be a speaker or activity, and usually some notices. At most meetings we have a ‘show and tell’ of members' makes. We also occasionally have a sales table for members to sell or donate quilting related items (fabric, books, tools, patterns, UFOs etc.)
See our programme for details of future speakers/events. If you have any ideas for future speakers or events, give details to Cath Anley.
When we meet in the church we start the evening with refreshments, so there'll be lots of opportunity to meet new friends and get advice on your latest project.
There is a refreshment rota, currently organised by Linda Baldwin. Most members take it in turns to provide cakes (or other treats) and to serve hot and cold drinks to the attendees. Please note that as we meet in a Methodist Church, it is a condition of our lease that no alcohol is consumed on the premises.
Once you join you will have been given a badge with your name in red. After 1 year, your badge will have your name in black. This helps us to identify new members and try and make you feel extra welcome.
As a member we ask you to tick the register each time you attend, and let us know when you can’t get to a meeting.
We welcome non-members to attend any open meetings (marked on the programme with an asterisk). There is a fee of £5.00, which includes refreshments.
If we are not able to hold meetings in the church for any reason, we hold meetings on Zoom. Our chair will send you the link.
